How to play
The object of the puzzle is to fill every square of the grid with either a Tree🌳 or Grass🟩 symbol.
At the start of the puzzle there are already some trees and grass squares on the grid (marked with a small triangle in one corner) that cannot be erased. Deciding which symbol can be placed in the remaining squares is guided by the following rules:
1. On every row or column, there must be an equal number of Tree and Grass squares. There are numbers at the edges of the grid which show the current number of each on the adjacent line. The numbers in the top-right and bottom-left corners indicate the total number of Trees or Grass that need to be placed in each line.
2. There can never be three (or more) of the same symbol in adjacent squares on a line. For example, if there are already two trees next to each other on a row, we know that the squares immediately to the left and right of them must contain grass (and vice versa).
This rule is only applied horizontally and vertically - not diagonally.
This rule is only applied in one dimension - three squares of the same symbol can be arranged in an 'L' shape (in any orientation) without breaking the rule, as there is no unbroken straight line of three squares in this case.
Select the Grass🟩 or Tree🌳 button at the base of the grid to select a symbol to paint. Then tap squares in the grid to paint them with that symbol.
If you make a mistake, tapping a filled square a second time erases its contents.
